Chris Pienaar is a part time professional, but mostly a recreational general photographer. He loves taking pictures and as his current occupation as a risk management consultant affords him the opportunity to travel not only within South Africa but also places like the Middle East, UK, Kenya and Turkey.
He makes maximum use of these opportunities by always having a camera close by and trying to learn to shoot anything from nature to people to action to macro....
In 1986 Chris started his photography with two Ricohs ( models unknown) a Vivitar 70-300 lens, a 50 mm prime and later on an 18 mm wide angle
Shot of the Month
This shot was taken with a little 5 MP point and shoot, I cant even remember the make and model. I was visiting London for the first time in my life and made to the banks of the Thames river just in time to see the shadow of the city taken the lat light from the London bridge, very disappointing, because I wanted to get a nice photographs of this iconic land mark. When I eventually made my way to the bridge, the light was already very low. I stabilised the camera against a steel railing and exposed for the tower wall.
